Tarja Turunen gives concerts in Finland and Russia before heading to Argentina to spend christmas.

Soprano Tarja Turunen twinkles as the brightest star of tv's christmas concerts this year.
On Friday 15.12 Tarja will sing together with Finland's music sky's front rank in a charity concert for The Association of Friends of the University Children's Hospitals.
Along with Tarja, for example Jari Sillanpää, Värttinä ja Portuguese Mariza will perform in the concert.
The next evening the stage is Tarja's alone. In the program Estradilla: Tarja Turusen joulukonsertti (On the estrade: Tarja Turunen's christmas concert) the star sings songs from her new Henkäys Ikuisuudesta album.
The album came out a few weeks ago on 7th place and has now climbed to number two. It has sold already over 15 000 copies. That meant a gold record for Tarja already for the solo career's first album.

Tarja Turunen has told to have planned the christmas album for a long time. She chose 14 songs for the album: traditional Finnish carols, classical pieces and compositions known all over the world.
- I have many dear memories from childhood with my family, when at christmas we sang carols and went to many concerts, Tarja told to Ilta-Sanomat recently.
- When I reminisced these childhood christmases I thought that it would be wonderful to make a christmas record for Finns. This is my way of thanking them for years of great encouragement.

A Latino Christmas

Singer Tarja Turunen is at the moment on a hectic christmas tour that ends with concerts in St. Petersberg and Moscow just a few days before christmas eve.
After that, the singer travels to spend christmas far from her home in Kuusankoski. Tarja spends the christmas holidays with her husband Marcelo Cabuli's parents in Argentina.
Tarja has something to get used to with the South American christmas, because the singer has many times emphasized that she appreciates the traditional christmas with family.
- This is my first christmas abroad. The fact that both my brothers are coming for New Year helps the bittersweetness of spending christmas, Tarja told to Ilta-Sanomat. In the interview with STT she talked about the warmth of Finnish christmas.
- On christmas there's peace and warmth in the air. A warm feeling I mean, since it isn't that warm in Finland at christmas, Tarja cogitated.

According to Karjalan Heili-newspaper a pile of presents isn't important in Tarja Turunen's christmas. The singer gets real christmas from food, music, christmas sauna, a good mood and burning candles.
- It's a time to come together with your family. I miss my family and christmas is the time to be together. I play the piano and the whole family sings. On christmas morning we naturally go to church, the singer tells.
Tarja spend last christmas with her family.
- The best christmas present is that I get my dad and both my brothers with me to spend christmas. There'll be about ten people around the christmas table Tarja estimated.
- I going to make the christmas foods myself. Carelian sweet potato-casserole is an absolut delicacy, as well as the other casseroles my mum taught me to make.

The Tarja Turunen's concert shown on tv will be recorded on December 12th in Lahti's Sibeliushouse. The consert is a part of the Henkäys Ikuisuudesta-tour, where Turunen sings the following songs:
