Tanja:
When you sent your first demo, you sent only one copy of 'Ever Dream '. Why did you select this Song and why didn't you send any more songs?

Anette:
I sent only this song, because I thought, I wouldn't have any more time to send any more, as I thought everything had to go very fast, because someone said to me "you must send it very fast, because they may already have someone else". That was not true at all, but anyhow. ' I sent Ever Dream ', because I had not yet at all heard so much of NIGHTWISH, and the song simply at first listen pleased me, and I thought "Hey, that is a good Song". I didn't know the history behind the song at all and did not know also that it is a very personal song for Tuomas. It was simply luck (laughs).

Tanja:
Did you ever meet any of the other candidates?

Anette:
No, no, no (laughs)! I heard a few demos, but I do not have any idea who they were.

Tanja:
With ALYSON AVENUE you have sung songs which somebody else had written. Now sing you the songs that Tuomas has written. Do you have also own songwriter qualities or see yourself you more than than the interpreter of other's songs?

Anette:
I see myself rather as an interpreter, but I wrote many lyrics, for example in the early years of ALYSON AVENUE. I am not however the best one in songwriting, I have not had as much experience as for example Tuomas or Niklas of ALYSON AVENUE. But, I wrote few songs, and I think they would work, if I would get (something, didn't translate properly) and also some professional assistance was received, then they could work. I am like Tuomas, I write very deep lyrics.

Tanja:
Is it hard or easy for you to sing to Tuomas' songs with emotion? His lyrics can be very somewhat cryptic.

Anette:
Yes, that's correct (laughs). But it is rather simple for me, and he said to me that I sing and convey the lyrics well. If I read the lyrics, I always try to find the meaning between the lines. Naturally I cannot understand all 100% of them, because I did not write them. As singers one must be able to interpret songs which were written by someone else. From therefore it think I am already okay.

Tanja:
What is your favourite song of Nightwish apart from any on Dark Passion Play?

Anette:
Oh, I could say all of them in a way. Naturally I like all songs off the new album, but if I must decide now for another album, then I choose "Higher Than Hope".

Tanja:
We know already that ' Ever Dream ' of one is your favourite Songs of NIGHTWISH. Which song at all don't you like?

Anette:
Ohhhh (laughs)... I do not know, Honestly there is none, there are no Songs, of which I could say that I do not like really.

Tanja:
Which Song on the album coming now do you like dearest and why?

Anette:
How I said before, I like really all songs very much, It is hard to select only one. I like ' Meadows OF Heaven ' really very much, it is a great Song, and I love to sing it as it fits my voice very well. And ' I like Amaranth ' also very much, it is very catchy. If you hear the Song, then you will want to dance! Simply, it is a super song.

Tanja:
You filmed two videos in Los Angeles. How was it for you to make was a professional video and work for example with a Bluescreen?

Anette:
We did not have Bluescreen. No, we did not have. Naturally it still some things to give, which are later inserted, but was rather in such a way developed actually everything, as it should be. It was very exciting for me, and I was also totally nervous. It was also the first time the fact that those would see me correct by-forming young (laughs). And I know that also they were nervous and made themselves thoughts: "as it will be probably live?" Thus we were nervous all. And then Antti, our director, it is a large producer, and I could not do him so well from the outset, I knew only that he admits much is. But it was very nice, gave me good instructions, and it ran very well. Afterwards I was even impressed, how quickly I had appeared myself into this video world.

Tanja:
Did the trick make for fun?

Anette:
Yes, it made really very much fun! And I may it also very gladly stand before the camera that was always like that.

Tanja:
Soon you will go on your first large tour. How do you feel about that? What do you look forward to, and what concerns for you?

Anette:
I look forward to it to see what is like to be in a bus, and to live and have fun. I know naturally that there will be bad days and good days, like when one feels ill or a cold has or is simply tired. Even during the Promo tour there is going to naturally be a day on which one feels simply not good. But Tuomas and I try to help each other and so, think I should also be okay. And naturally the schedule is already very busy/hectic, so I'm a bit worried how my voice will react. I will simply try to get enough sleep and for me and not worry so much, because then I'll be stressed only more. In addition I have also asked Marco about that, as he is a amazing singer and has already been on tour alot. I can talk well with him and catch up me some tips! (laughs). He already said to me: "you must relax simply!" Thus I will do exactly that, and will then ask him for feedback and assistance. We've been on a Promo tour for a video, an album, Photoshootings and and and... and I said: "we did not play yet at all!" (laughs). Thus I become slowly also somewhat impatient.

Tanja:
Will your son accompany you?

Anette:
No, I don't believe so. Naturally he'll visit me at some of the concerts if we are close by, but when he is six years old and in preparatory school, he needs stability. I know only too well, because I grew up partly in the tour bus with my mother. Naturally I had at that time also a kind stability, because my mother always was there, but I had always slept behind the stage, and there were also bad sides of life on tour. It is simply just completely different. And it is very important also for me that I fully concentrate on my role of "Anette, the singer". A mother is one thing, but if I am then with my son together and on the stage as well, then I am sort of another person.

Tanja:
Yes, then you must be able to keep also your focus...

Anette:
Yes, exactly, and that would be very difficult if my son were there. In addition there are bad habits in the musicscene, for example people drinking very much. He is simply too young in order to also travel in the bus. But we will naturally see him, if we are in the proximity.

Tanja:
I can imagine that he is very proud on his Mother..

Anette:
Yes, he is very very proud(laughs)... He tells it to everyone (laughs more). Straight away (after the announcement) it was a very exciting time , because there were large articles and so, which we saw also in the newspapers if we went shopping, and he said "Wow!" (laughs)... He is really very proud.

Tanja:
Are there older NIGHTWISH songs, which you think that you should not sing?

Anette:
I have sang so far only the Songs, which we will rehearse correctly to have already for the tour. If there is a song, for example which is too high for me we will have to a little bit. Young already it said that okay will then also be. Naturally it will already give few such Songs. We will not play phantom OF The Opera ' for example ', and perhaps some other different songs, which have a too special meaning. This decision is with Tuomas. I will tell the band if I have problems with a Song, and then we'll try to change them together a little so that it then works.

Tanja:
A young Finnish Designer will sketch your concert outfits. Which style/direction are you going for?

Anette:
The whole thing is only in the initial stage, and I do not know yet at all as it will end. We met only once. It is not any longer much time, from therefore must we times see, how much it will make in the final result. When we met, we conversed over a few things. I think that we do not have the time at all to make all costumes for the lining up US route therefore I also some things bought. It will thus give different Outfits, will have I dresses, but no enormous garbs will be, but rather smaller black dresses. So in the kind, as I already carry it in some Promo pictures. And also some skirts. In addition I of therefore like leathers very gladly, think I that the Designerin will sketch some leather things for me.

Tanja:
The band forced you to watch horror films! Can you recommend and/or advise against which?

Anette:
All were terrible (laughs)! No, rubbish. I do not like these Splatter films , where everywhere only blood squirts, I stand more on psychological thrillers and such. With those I get goosebumps, also with films with spirit. We saw Hostel 1 "and" Hostel 2 "for example". "Hostel 1" was very bloody, but I could watch it. "Hostel 2" was simply too much, even the guys said so. "Hostel 2" was simply only eklig, (?)genuine. Like said, "Hostel 1" is also very bloody, but that had a better storyline. Then we saw also "wolf Creek", a Low budget film from Australia. It is very gruselig, because such a thing really could happen or even happened, because they say, the film is based on a true history. Naturally there is blood also there, but it is not like "Hostel" where it really only blood, blood, blood gives (laughs). But the story is not really furchteinfloessend, after I saw the film, would like I guarantees car Trip by Australia making (laughs)! But the film was good, I can it genuinly recommend. It is a Low budget film, but the actors are mad, and the story is genuinly glaring, because it is true... (GO AUSTRALIA!! tongue2.gif )

Tanja:
I doubt the fact that I will regard ever one of the films, but well (laughs)... Describe everyone in the band with a word.

Anette:
Jukka: responsible. Marco: point. (? he's pointy?) Emppu: happy. Tuomas: Wow, that is with difficulty... (considered)... warmherzig.

Tanja:
Whom did you want to marry, when you were small?

Anette:
Ohhhh (laughs). I do not know at all. If I would have been a boy, then in any case my mother. But I believe in such a way that I wanted to marry a prince -- That's the dream of every small girl (laughs)...

Tanja:
Why do you use the name Anette Olzon and not your correct surname?

Anette:
It was somehow a whole combination of things. It is my birth name, the way of writing is the way of writing of my father. I thought much about it, and I wanted to protect simply my family, even if the name Blyckert was already revealed in ALYSON AVENUE. But I felt that I now with this much larger exposure, my family and son need to be protected from the media. In addition Tuomas asked me for it, because Olzon is to be pronnounced more simply, and in addition is it somehow a cooler name (laughs). Thus it was real a combination of things. Unfortunately just after the announcement some Swedish publications spread my name, And they spread Anette Blyckert, From there, some people who knew had called my family and myself until I changed the number. But, changing it was a combination: It wasn't necessarily to be cool, the principal reason was my family to be protected. And that Olzon is written and expressed more simply.

Tanja:
Is it a typical Swedish name?

Anette:
Yes, already. Normally the way of writing is a little different, with 'Son' at the end. Our name was always somewhat different, because my Dad writes the name with z, and my mother from the outset with double(?). All these names, which end with son, Andersson one, Nielson and so, are all typical Swedish names. In Finland there ae names with nen at the end, with us is it son, therefore it is really very typical.

Tanja:
Empfiehl from Sweden!

Anette:
TC, jaaa... (thinks after). I think they are from my hometown, Helsingborg. It is not Metal, but skirt ' n ' roll, but the sound is straight out of Sweden, also in the USA and Finland and in such a way. They make roll for really pure skirt ' n ', and the girl sings with a very special and special voice. They are genuinly cool! And because they are from my hometown, I also must make a bit of PR! (laughs).
