Reporter 1:Hey,what was the first Nw interview...ever? Do you remember?
T.H:Ever? Well..I think it was a local paper named Koti-Karjala in Kitee back in 1997 when we got our first
record deal.
Rep 1: What was the first radio interview
T.H:Ehmm...Can`t remember...sorry. Maybe a local radio in North Karelia.
Rep 2:We are still waiting our name to appear on the Thanks-list that you promised us after Oceanborn...
T.H:Is that the case?
Rep 2: Yeah it is..and we have reminded you a couple of times...
Rep 1:A collegue of ours asked last week if the interview in Radio Extreme(name of a music programme)was the first ever with Nw in the radio...I couln`t answer that, but I think we were one of very firsts after your first record.
T.H: Surely one of the firsts.
Rep:The oldest interview we found in our archives is from year 1998.
T.H: Oh... ok(surprised)
Rep:I haven`t listened to it lately but it was Markus Jokinen who did that
Rep 2:We were early birds...Like Tuomas says here earlier...he likes some stress around and to have something to do all the time and not just lay back.
Rep 1:You`re a big fan of Donald Duck...You have the D.D shirt on you?
T.H: "Shows the shirt"
Rep 1: Yeah..(looking the booklet of DPP)and there`s some drawings on the booklet...Where do you draw the line...Your new record is very pompous, the most pompous so far...and here`s all kind of stuff...owls and others....Where do you draw the line where it becomes kinda childish the whole thing
T.H: Of course it`s childish! You don`t need to draw a line...We have always been childish....and very naive in everything...but there`s always been a big heart with everything we do and you can also hear it.That`s been our thing always. It`s kinda "Mickey Mouse -heavy" we are doing. But it is terrible honest and the biggest thing people can identify with.
REPORTERS Translate to swedish what Tuomas said
Rep 1:Are you good at drawing?
T.H: No,I`m totally disasterous at drawing.
Rep 1: Great! In that case I can show you...SHOWS PICTURES of OTHER GUESTS
Rep 2 (3.18 min):So..if you could draw during the interview a portrait of yourself...If you want you can put the whole band in it...
T.H:Until now I`ve only had to speak about myself...Now I have to draw also.
Rep 2:Remu (finnish musician)played drums here while interviewed...Now we wanna test if you can do two different things simultaneously...
I played DPP to my friens the other day and he asked if Holopainen does any film music, cos that kind of music he should do.When listening this (DPP) grandiose music one could believe that you`d do well making film music..Have you been offered to that kind of thing?Have you thinked about it?
T:H:There has been some kind of interest and now I`ve got "a foot between the door"(a finnish phrase)in form of the film "Lieksa" by Markku Pölönen,to which I made the theme song "While your lips are still red"
Yeah,I`m interested of it very much, but not at the moment.I still got a strong "heavyman" inside of me so...
There have to be attitude and front base in music. It`s a thing in the future. As an old man...
Rep 2:When you can`t mosh anymore?
T.H:Yeah...but yes ,I`m interested and from film music and sound tracks I get concret inspiration to my works..and it hears.
REPS TRANSLATE TO SWEDISH...
Rep 2(5.42 min)The song we just heard...You said it is the oldest song of the record (don`t know what song, they don`t say it ) How old...Are all the songs done during the last two years,or are there some parts that origin from earlier times?
T.H:It`s terrible difficult to say cos writing music is kinda a way of life to me.I carry paper and a pen always with me...so can`t say exatly when I started to make songs for this record. Surely they were circulating in my head already when doing Once record. At the moment I`ve one song ready in my head and I`m thinking what would I come up with to the next record. But concret procedure when I sat by synthetiziser and piano and made them ready happened between the end of 2005 and spring 2006 in 4-5 months.
REPS TRANSLATE:::
Rep !(7.04 min)If you start a band today would the name still be Nightwish?
T.H:I think it`s a really good name for a band..."Yötoive"(Nw in finnish) It describes the mentality of the band somehow
REPS discuss in swedish about a band named Moonsorrow who have said they would like to change the name to "Sandels",which is a name of a beer.
Rep 2(7.40min) Gotta ask about a subject that has been talked most when it comes to Nw,and that is the change of the singer. Many have praised DPP and said it`s the best album so far,and I agree, but many have criticiced Anette`s dancing steps in Amaranth video.Have you heard about this?
T.H:Oh spring of the life!(finnish version of OMG)how people are closeminded...I mean...what is done in one video...and the director says what ever he says...One really should not stress one self with that kind of thing too much.
REPS discuss that even their programme have been criticiced by finnish speaking listeners about the fact that
the programme have had a light aand humourous aproach to heavy music.
Rep 1: A couple of the tracks in DPP have kinda bitter history in texts...What do you think of the possibily if the relation with you and Tarja get better would you be still perfoming Bye Bye Beautiful?
T.H: BBB has nothing to do with hate...It`s just a bitter sweet little song about a matter,a sad matter where no one was innocent. It may sound ,when listened first time, more aggressive than it really is...
Rep 1:Specially when Marco...
T.H: yeah, but to me the song it is extremely sad song. There`s no hatred in it and I hope no one takes it as an insult.
Rep 2: Have you done any interview after this DPP without being asked about the texts of BBB and Master Passion Greed?
T.H:Yes it has happened.A couple of days ago I did an interview with Kerrang magazine and the only matter we talked about was Disney films. That was great. But it`s still haunting there and it`s kinda depressive when it is 9 o`clock in the evening and interview number 29 starts and the first question is:"Why did you kick Tarja and the new singer is crap"
ALL LAUGHING...AND REPS TRANSLATE TO SWEDISH
Reps 2: You`re a big fan of Disney films. What`s in your opinion the the classic of the classics of Disney films
T.H. Ehh..Let`s say Sleeping Beauty...from the 50`st.
Rep 2:What`s the charm with those?
T.h:The fantasy world.
Rep 2: Ok.

I shorten a bit here.Reps asks if there would be a feature film of Nightwish, who would be acting who
T.H(13.04 min)Actually I was asked this some time ago in tv interview and I said that Jasper Pääkkönen could play me,he`s so flexible.....Emppu?...well Jasper would play Emppu. He`d manage that.Marco.Who would play him? "Long thinking" :Old,sorry Marco, charismatic and hairy dude Sean Connery.
Jukka? ...He`s a dark guy...that singer of Foofighters,Dave Crow(These names may be wrong.I don`t know them)He and Jukka are similar in some way..
Anette? let`s put Christina Ricci

Rep 1(14.25 min)What`s the best Egypt related heavy song in your opinion?
T.H: I think"Army of Powers" (this may be so wrong. That`s what I heard:))
Rep 1: Why Egypt is so popular in heavy music? You have "Sahara" and others have some?
T.H: It must that pompous mystisism,history...It`s not only Egypt...There`s alot of songs made of Vikings, but in general history and great ancient cultures.
Rep 1: If you`d have chance to travel with a time machine...which historic era you`d travel to?
T.H:It would be to America thousand years ago,to the camp of Sioux indians.
REPS TALK ABOUT OTHER BANDS THAT HAVE THE SAME THEMANTIC;ANCIENT CULTURES,IN THEIR SONGS.
Rep 1 (16.20 min)They say that a band is like a marriage.Which one is easier...To have a quarrel with a man or a woman? You have both in Nw.
T.H:It`s equally difficult.I can`t quarrel.I`m bad at it.I hate conflicts. I`m hoping that everyone could be happy. That`s how I am and the band is...We are childish in that sence that we`d like the world be perfect.
Rep 2 (17.06 min)Tuomas is drawing with a black pen...a portrait of very beardy T.H with black teeth
T.H: It looks like an egg with a hat.
Rep 1: Yesterday I read an interview in City-lehti and you said in it that you`ve never used a stylist, but when was the first time you used eye-liner?
T.H:in 1999.
Rep 2. What inspired you to this?
T.H: I had been watching how the "big boys" (rock stars) used that and I thought how it would look like in own face.
Rep 1: Where did you go when you did it? Were you at home? at backstage? Where?
T.H:Well,I was practising it with my girlfriend of that time. She showed me the way it`s done.
Rep 1: How did it feel when got out of the door?
T.H:I was laughing like hell At first it didn`t feel like a my thing but now it has become a part of my public image.
Rep 2: I have to ask...You`ve hanging around with the guys of Kotiteollisuus...and they don`t use make-up that much and they`ve said in interviews that bands that use make-up,like Negative and Uniklubi, are laughing stocks and clowns. Have them said anything to you?
T.H:You really shouldn`t take that seriously what those guys are saying...
Rep 2: Yeah..but have they ever said something to you?
T.H: No I can`t say they have. We are such a good friends that no explanations is needed from either of us.
Rep 2: When was the first time you bought condoms? You remember?
T.H: as eighteen year old and from the grill in Kitee.
Rep 2:You had a plan? Was it a embassasing situation?
T.H: Yes,very.
Rep 2: Did you wait that all the other customers had left?
T.H: I don`t remember exatly, but we were some friends and we bought all kind of stuff..I do remember it
Reps. Thank you
T.H:Thanks

Co objawia się w zbyt dużej, moim zdaniem, oczywistości i dosłowności jego tekstów.
Wolałam jak posiadały tą nutkę mistycyzmu i niedomówienia.
